Cramant Cottages, New Walk

If, like me, you are of a certain age, you may remember Weavers Wine Bar on King Street in Leicester. I can always remember going in, but my recollection of leaving is a little more hazy.

In case you can’t remember or never had the chance to wait 30 minutes to be served a warm beer, Weavers was named after a row of weavers cottages, original “one-up one-down” houses that Barratts tried to replicate in the late 1980s.

The cottages were imaginatively restored in the mid-1990’s. A full-length atrium was added to create a large bar, and both floors of the cottages were used for private drinking areas.

The bar closed in 2006, since when it was re-christened Cramant Cottages and used as a day nursery.

It has been meticulously maintained and is available to rent.

It is really difficult to categorise such an unusual property, but we imagine there will be interest for leisure, health, salon or office use.

There is a floor plan on the details but in total, the property extends to 3,849 sq. ft.
